Holiday shopping doesn't always have to be a mad dash through the malls or big box stores—
it can be an enjoyable family experience of listening to music, meeting creative folks from your
own community, and picking out unique gifts while you're at it. This year, support local artisans
and help provide scholarships for kids by shopping at the Buen Dia Holiday Design Bazaar.

The event is sponsored by Buen Dia Family School. We are a non-profit preschool serving a diverse
group of Spanish and English speaking families in San Francisco's Mission District. The
show's vendors will be donating 25% of their proceeds to help fund scholarships at the school.

Why is shopping locally so important? According to the San Francisco
Locally Owned Merchants Alliance, not only are local businesses competitive,

quirky, friendly, unique, and creative, they also better support the
entire local economy by re-circulating more money within their own
communities than big chain stores do.

More than two dozen vendors will be on hand to showcase their
crafts, including jewelry, accessories, gifts for kids, photography,
art, and lots more. The event will also feature live music,
a DJ, baked goods and an arts and crafts area to entertain the kids.
